When considering Paul's admonition in 1 Corinthians 11:27-34 that we examine ourselves, that we discern the Lord’s body, there are five broad statements made by Paul:
- We bring judgment on ourselves
- We don’t judge ourselves
- We are judged by God
- We are chastened by the Lord
- We may be condemned with the world
